Annual Sports Day 2025

A spectacular showcase of athletic spirit and team coordination

The sports ground of Vidya Pratishthan's Vinodkumar Gujar Bal Vikas Mandir vibrated with energy, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit on February 28, 2025, as the school hosted its **Annual Sports Meet**. The event brought together students from Nursery to Grade X to participate in a series of athletic and recreational matches, celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and health.

The day began with an impressive March Past led by the School Brass Band. The captains of the three houses—**Shivneri (Blue), Raigad (Gold), and Purandhar (Green)**—proudly led their contingents in synchrony, saluting the Chief Guest, Mr. Vijay Shinde, an international handball player, and the school Principal.

"Sports teach us how to lose, how to win, how to work with others, and how to stay healthy. In school, physical education is just as critical as academic studies. The battle of life is won on fields of discipline." — Mr. Vijay Shinde, Chief Guest

Track and Field Athletic Events

The athletic events featured races of various distances (50m, 100m, 200m, and 400m), relay races, hurdles, and long jump. The competitive races saw students giving their best, cheered on loudly by their fellow house members. The relay races (both 4x100m junior and senior) were the highlight of the day, with thrilling finishes that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

Fun Races for Pre-Primary Section

The younger students from Nursery, LKG, and UKG stole everyone's hearts with their adorable and creative fun races. Events like the 'Obstacle Race', 'Rabbit Race', and 'Gathering the Balls' were full of laughter and joy, highlighting the school's focus on healthy, active play from an early age.

Teambuilding & Inter-House Tournaments

The final rounds of inter-house tournaments in Handball, Basketball, and Volleyball were played on Sports Day. The matches were closely contested, showing excellent strategy, coordination, and athletic prowess. The Purandhar House emerged victorious in the Basketball tournament, while Raigad House clinched the Handball championship.

Prizes & Closing Ceremony

During the closing ceremony, Mr. Vijay Shinde distributed medals and certificates to the individual winners. Raigad House was awarded the **Overall Sports Trophy** for securing the maximum points across all track and field matches, sports tournaments, and athletic achievements. Individual championship trophies were awarded to the best athletes across primary and secondary categories.

The flame was lowered, the school flag was folded respectfully, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem.
