Our Scholarship Philosophy

At Vidya Pratishthan's Vinodkumar Gujar Bal Vikas Mandir, we firmly believe that financial constraints should never stand in the way of a child's education. Our scholarship and freeship programs — awarded by the School Managing Committee and the Parent-Teacher Association — are designed to identify and support meritorious and deserving students from Std. V onwards. We also facilitate access to all Government of Maharashtra scholarship schemes to ensure every eligible student benefits.

A. School Scholarships & Freeships

The School Managing Committee awards scholarships to meritorious students. These Scholarships are open to students from Stds. V and above. Applications for the same are to be given to the School Office before the end of June for the New Academic Year.

Freeships to deserving students are also awarded by a Special Committee of Parents and Teachers from the Funds of the Parent-Teacher Association. Applications for the same are to be made before the end of June for the New Academic Year.

Government Scholarship Schemes

VPBVM actively assists students in applying for all eligible Government of Maharashtra scholarship schemes. Students and parents are encouraged to enquire at the school office about the current list of applicable schemes and required documentation.

Minority Scholarship

For students from notified minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi). Pre-matric and post-matric schemes available.

Central & State Govt.

OBC Scholarship

For students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC) as per the Maharashtra government list, subject to family income criteria.

State Govt. — VJNT & OBC

SC / ST Scholarship

For Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students. Covers tuition and maintenance allowances as per government norms.

Social Justice Dept.

EBC / Open Category

For Economically Backward Class students from the open category. Based on family income and academic performance.

State Govt.

Merit Scholarship Criteria

The School Managing Committee evaluates merit-based scholarship applications on the following criteria:

Minimum 75% marks in previous academic year
Student from Std. V or above
Consistent academic performance & attendance
Application submitted before end of June
Recommendation from class teacher
Good conduct record at school

Scholarship Application Process

Applying for a scholarship is simple. Follow these three steps to complete your application.

Collect Application Form

Obtain the scholarship application form from the School Office. Forms are available at the beginning of the new academic year (June).

Submit with Documents

Complete the form and attach all required documents. Submit to the School Office before the end of June deadline.

Await Committee Decision

The Managing Committee or PTA Special Committee reviews all applications and announces the scholarship/freeship recipients.

B. Uniform

The School Uniform identifies the student with the School and creates the "We Feeling" of Pride, Unity and the Sense of belonging to Vinodkumar Gujar Bal Vikas Mandir.

The standard School Uniform for the Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary School can be obtained from any of the well known cloth/garment stores in Baramati. Please observe the photographs of the students displaying the School Uniform along with details regarding the quality, colour and shade of the cloth, from the Notice Board.
Please Note

Please do not purchase cheap or inferior cloth, as it only makes the student feel humiliated by his shoddy uniform. The school takes pride in its uniform standards and expects all students to maintain them.

Parents are required to purchase at least three complete sets of uniforms for each student. Barring unavoidable circumstances, students are not allowed to attend school if they are not wearing the complete uniform. A letter from the parent requesting the Principal to excuse the student for not wearing the School Uniform for specific reasons is essential in such a case.

Black leather shoes, Oxford type pattern are to be worn by the boys from Stds. I to X and for the girls, black leather, Belle type, ankle bar shoes. Blue canvas shoes are to be worn by the Pre-Primary Children, with Navy Blue Socks. Grey socks are to be worn by the boys and girls of Stds. I to X.

C. Text Books

A list of Text Books for each standard will be displayed on the School Notice Board. Text Books for the I.C.S.E. Classes will be supplied by the School and sold to the students at a "No Profit, No Loss" basis.

D. Note Books

At the unanimous request of the Class Representatives of the Parent-Teacher Association, the School has agreed to continue to supply Note Books to all the students at a "No Profit No Loss" basis. Please do not purchase Note Books from anywhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions — Scholarships

Who awards scholarships at VPBVM?
Scholarships are awarded by the School Managing Committee to meritorious students. Additionally, freeships are awarded by a Special Committee of Parents and Teachers using funds from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
From which class are students eligible for scholarships?
Both merit-based scholarships and PTA freeships are open to students from Std. V and above. Students in lower classes are not eligible for the school-awarded scholarship, though they may apply for applicable Government schemes.
When is the last date to apply for a scholarship?
Applications for both the School Managing Committee scholarship and the PTA freeship must be submitted to the School Office before the end of June for the new academic year. Government scholarship deadlines are announced separately on the school notice board.
Are there government scholarships available for students?
